Here are some tips for hoteliers using Facebook
Engage with your guests
When someone has made a comment on your page or liked it, thank them and respond to their comment. They are more likely to return to your page when they feel like they are being listened to. Engaging with visitors is more likely to lead them to making a booking or recommending you to friends and family. Ask people who have stayed with you to send photos that can be shown on Facebook, you could have an album called ‘guests gallery’. Remember, whenever a guest publishes a positive video, image or comment on your Facebook Page, it will also be published on their
personal Facebook profile.
Provide useful content
You should be using Facebook to build relationships with its users, good relationships can lead to future bookings. By providing useful and helpful content that readers will enjoy will encourage them to revisit your page. For example, things to do in the area, guest reviews, videos of the hotel etc.
The cover photo on your Facebook page should be a good high quality picture of the hotel as this is the first thing people see when they click on your page
Although this doesn’t need to be done daily you should be updating the page a couple of times a week at least. This could be a new photo being added to your pics page, news of something happening at the hotel or in the town. When a Facebook page hasn’t been updated in a while people will have no reason to revisit the page
